Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi expressed jubilation as former Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe was acquitted of murder charges in the Monica Kimani murder case by Judge Grace Nzioka.

Inside Milimani Law Courts, Itumbi and Maribe shared an emotional embrace following the delivery of the verdict, captured in a heartening video shared on social media.

Judge Nzioka cited lack of evidence as the basis for Maribe’s acquittal, highlighting that the charge against her was not properly placed. This decision marked the culmination of a legal battle spanning over five years, with the judgment postponed three times.

Itumbi, who had steadfastly supported Maribe since the onset of the accusations, expressed his unwavering commitment, stating, “I have no regrets that I stood by you,” in a post on his social media account.

Meanwhile, in the same case, Judge Nzioka found Jowie Irungu, the first accused, guilty of murder. The tragic incident occurred at Monica Kimani’s Lamuria Gardens Apartment in Kilimani.

Throughout the trial, the prosecution called upon 35 witnesses, while the defense opted not to present any witnesses.
