Moshi, May 28, 2024 – Amidst widespread rumors in Moshi town about the arrest of a woman who had a child with Ephagro Msele, the businessman allegedly killed by his wife Beatrice Elias, Kilimanjaro Regional Police Commander Simon Maigwa has stated that these reports are false.

In an interview with Mwananchi Digital, Commander Maigwa urged people to ignore the circulating rumors. He emphasized that the police cannot detain someone who has not committed a crime.

“We have no grounds to hold this woman. The one at fault is the person who invaded another’s home and committed the act, and that is who we have in custody,” said Commander Maigwa.

When Beatrice Will Appear in Court

When asked about when Beatrice will be taken to court, Commander Maigwa mentioned that the investigation is ongoing. Once it is complete, she will be brought before the court.

Msele’s Burial Arrangements

Mwananchi Digital visited the home of the deceased businessman and found family members preparing for his burial. Damian Msele, the deceased’s uncle, announced that Ephagro Msele would be buried on Saturday, June 1, 2024. The funeral service will be held at the Karanga Catholic Church in Moshi Municipality at noon.

“Our relative will be buried here at home on Saturday, and the farewell mass will take place at the nearby Karanga Church,” said Damian Msele.

How the Murder Happened

According to close associates of the family, on May 25, 2024, Beatrice tracked her husband after they had attended a funeral together. She used a motorcycle taxi to follow him. When Msele parked his car, she allegedly saw him enter the home of the woman he had a child with.

Beatrice reportedly waited at the gate of the woman’s home in the Pumuani A area. When Msele came out to open the gate, a confrontation ensued between them, leading to Beatrice attacking him.

Commander Maigwa stated that Beatrice ambushed her husband as he left the home of his child’s mother and stabbed him with a sharp object. When the police arrived at the scene, they found that Msele had been stabbed in the back with a knife.

The police searched for the murder weapon and found it hidden in Beatrice’s purse, along with Msele’s phone and wallet. The police then took Beatrice into custody and transported Msele’s body from the scene.
