In a botched robbery incident in Nairobi’s Dandora area, one suspect was shot dead by police, who also recovered a pistol from him. The suspect was part of a gang targeting pedestrians on Thursday morning when the police were alerted to the crime.

The incident occurred around 5 am in Dandora Phase Four. Responding to the scene, a police patrol team engaged the robbers, resulting in the death of one suspect. Two others managed to flee the scene.

Nairobi police commander Adamson Bungei reported that a homemade pistol with two bullets and three mobile phones were found on the deceased suspect. The search for the escaped suspects is ongoing.

During the robbery, two pedestrians sustained injuries. One victim was able to identify one of the mobile phones recovered from the deceased suspect. The body was taken to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.

Police have intensified operations in the city to address rising crime incidents. In a separate incident, authorities are searching for a gang that attacked and robbed a British national in Ololua Estate, Langata. The woman was assaulted as she entered her compound by four masked assailants who stole electronic devices, jewelry, and valuables. The victim received medical treatment and is in fair condition, while the search for the attackers continues.
