Deputy Chairperson of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Mr. Hassan Joho, has promised to promote the opposition party in every part of the country to garner significant support and followers in the 2027 general elections.

Mr. Joho, who has set up camp in the Nyanza region to recruit supporters, stated that he would ensure other parties do not infiltrate the region, which has been a stronghold of ODM leader Mr. Raila Odinga.

He said the new ODM campaign in Nyanza also aims to foster unity among opposition members.

Speaking to members in Nyatike, Mr. Joho said he would tour the entire country to seek support, emphasizing that the ODM party would form the government.

“I will traverse every corner of Kenya to promote my party and the future plans of forming an ODM government in 2027,” said Mr. Joho, who was accompanied by his former political opponent, Mr. Suleiman Shahbal, who is also a member of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).

Mr. Shahbal described Mr. Joho as a bold politician who has been advocating for the welfare of coastal residents, including the port of Mombasa.

“One day, Mr. Joho stood in front of former President Uhuru Kenyatta and told him he could not take our Mombasa port. A person aspiring for the presidency must have strength, courage, and fearlessness,” said Mr. Shahbal.

He said Mr. Joho is a fearless leader who is not afraid of anyone.

Mr. Shahbal explained how he and Mr. Joho were fierce rivals on their political journey and eventually became friends.
