Athletics Kenya (AK) has unveiled the squad of 30 athletes and officials to represent Kenya at the Africa Cross Country Championship scheduled for February 25 in Hammamet, Tunisia.

Leading the team are former world youth silver medallist Sandrafelis Chebet and Grace Loibach. Chebet recently won the women’s 15km Road race at the Corrida Internacional de São Silvestre in Brazil, while Loibach showcased her talent in various international competitions.

Also included in the senior women’s category are Virginia Nyambura, Cintia Chepngeno, Gladys Kwamboka, and Caren Chebet.

Robert Kiprop, the 2019 African Games gold medalist, will spearhead the men’s senior team, accompanied by Vincent Kimaiyo, Brian Kiptoo, and others.

The women’s junior team will be led by World U20 3,000m bronze medallist Nancy Cherop, alongside Diana Chepkemoi and Sheila Jebet, among others.

In the men’s U20 category, Titus Kiprotich and Gideon Kipngetich are notable names in the lineup.

Mirriam Cherop and Winfred Nzisa will lead the relay team, supported by Evaline Chepkoech and others.

The team, under the leadership of AK Vice President Paul Mutwii, will enter a residential training camp on February 11 at Watakatifu Wote in Ngong to prepare for the championship.
