Ukrainian drones allegedly hit Russian distilleries in border regions

Russian officials claim that Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) allegedly targeted several “civilian enterprises” in Voronezh and Belgorod oblasts overnight.

In the recent months, Ukraine intensified drone attacks on Russia, particularly on military targets in regions closer to the Ukrainian border. These strikes are aimed at disrupting Russian military supply lines and operations, damaging infrastructure, and raising the cost of war for Russia domestically.

Alexander Gusev, governor of Voronezh Oblast, located near Belgorod oblast which borders Ukraine, reported that Ukrainian UAVs attempted to attack several enterprises “producing civilian products”.

He stated that one person suffered shrapnel wounds to the arm and that a fire broke out on one floor of a targeted building.

A Telegram channel Crimean Wind suggested that the drones specifically targeted distilleries in Stary Oskol, Belgorod Oblast, and the Novokhopersky district of Voronezh Oblast. These claims have not been independently verified.

The Russian Ministry of Defense asserted that it had intercepted 10 drones over Belgorod, Voronezh, and Kursk oblasts during the night. However, Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of Belgorod Oblast, has not yet confirmed any attacks in his jurisdiction.
